Lifou Flights Canceled – Friday, October 10

Lifou – Wanaham Airport will be closed this Friday, October 10, as part of the mobilization announced by the Ne Drehu Customary Coordination Committee. As a result, the airline is forced to cancel all its flights to this destination on Friday, October 10, 2025.

Passengers affected by a cancellation will be automatically rebooked on the next available flights and will be informed by SMS or email according to the contact details provided at the time of booking. If the proposed rebooking option does not suit them, they are invited to contact our sales team by phone at 25 21 77 or by email at vente@air-caledonie.nc.

The airline regrets this situation and thanks its passengers for their understanding.

Flight Disruption Notice – Special Rotation Scheduled on October 1st

Following a technical incident resulting in the cancellation of flights TY915/SB3240 and TY916/SB3241 on Tuesday, September 29, 2025, the airline informs its passengers that a special rotation will be operated on Wednesday, October 1.

All affected customers have been rebooked on the following services:

  • October, 1st, 2025 – Flight TY915/SB3240 from Nouméa La Tontouta to Port-Vila: departure at 3:00 p.m., arrival at 4:30 p.m.

  • October, 1st 2025 – Flight TY916/SB3241 from Port-Vila to Nouméa La Tontouta: departure at 5:30 p.m., arrival at 7:00 p.m.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this disruption may have caused and thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

New Flights to Port-Vila

To better meet demand for the Port-Vila (VLI) destination, our airline is adjusting its flight schedule.

An additional weekly rotation will be operated over the next two months, resulting in a reorganization of the service.

New flight schedule:

  • Monday
    TY915 Nouméa → Port-Vila | 13:30 – 15:00 (moved forward by 1h30)
    TY916 Port-Vila → Nouméa [Cancelled]

  • Tuesday
    TY1916 Port-Vila → Nouméa | 10:30 – 12:00 (new flight)
    TY1915 Nouméa → Port-Vila | 13:00 – 14:30 (new flight)

  • Thursday
    TY915 Nouméa → Port-Vila | 15:00 – 16:30
    TY916 Port-Vila → Nouméa | 17:30 – 19:00
  • Friday
    TY1916 Port-Vila → Nouméa | 10:30 – 12:00 (new flight)

Important information for affected passengers

Customers holding confirmed tickets on the cancelled Monday flight Port-Vila → Nouméa (TY916) have been automatically rebooked onto the Tuesday morning flight. Impacted passengers have been informed individually by SMS or email, based on the contact details provided at the time of booking. Air Calédonie teams remain at passengers’ disposal for any further information.

Transfer of Operations to La Tontouta: An Adapted Commercial Policy

The government of New Caledonia has announced its decision to transfer Air-Calédonie’s domestic activities from Magenta Airport to La Tontouta (international airport). Although the date is not yet known, the company is actively preparing and aims to reassure its customers.

For now, a flight schedule is on sale departing from Magenta Airport. If, by the time of your trip, the departure is finally to take place at La Tontouta, our teams will ensure to offer you an equivalent flight from the international airport.

Thus, already paid reservations (issued tickets) will be automatically modified without additional cost to the flight closest to your initial reservation. An email and SMS message will be sent to inform you of this change. If this new arrangement does not suit you, special commercial instructions will be offered to facilitate a modification or refund under certain conditions. However, be aware that if you wish to modify your ticket after this step, it will result in a fare adjustment, notably due to different taxes between the two airports.

For those who have only made a reservation without having completed the payment (unissued ticket), a new flight and fare proposal will be sent to you with an updated purchase deadline.

Vanuatu: Port-Vila rotation operated by Aircalin on 25/08/2025

Due to a technical issue and the unavailability of one of the fleet’s aircraft, the airline informs its customers that flights TY915/SB3240 and TY916/SB3241 will be operated in partnership with Aircalin on board an A320.

All passengers have therefore been transferred to the following flights today (25 August 2025):

  • 25 August 2025, flight SB900 – Nouméa to Port-Vila: departure at 16:50, arrival at 18:10

  • 25 August 2025, flight SB901 – Port-Vila to Nouméa: departure at 19:25, arrival at 20:25

[Update – August 25 at 6:45 PM] Flight schedule disruptions

Following the various cancellations since 22 August, the airline has worked in partnership with Betico to set up a special maritime rotation in order to reroute passengers affected by a flight cancellation.

Accordingly, passengers identified as awaiting transfer are automatically reassigned to the following Betico rotations (26th August):

  • Departure from Nouméa at 07:00 ➝ Arrival in Maré at 11:00

  • Departure from Maré at 11:45 ➝ Arrival in Lifou at 13:45

  • Departure from Lifou at 14:30 ➝ Arrival in Nouméa at 19:30

Passengers will be notified by SMS or email. The airline wishes to remind customers awaiting transfer that it is not necessary to book a ticket directly with Betico to be reassigned.

[Update – August 22 at 6:45 PM]

Due to technical issues affecting one of our aircraft, the airline has been forced to cancel several flights scheduled for Friday, August 22. The flight schedule for Saturday, August 23, and Sunday, August 24, is also heavily disrupted, with further cancellations expected.

At this stage, passengers awaiting transfer have been identified, and our teams are fully mobilized to provide rebooking solutions as quickly as possible. However, during this peak travel period linked to the end of the holiday season, and given the reduction of our capacity (fleet downsized since 2024), rebooking options are limited. As a result, the first transfers may only be possible in the coming days.

Freight service disruptions are also expected.

Practical information for passengers

  • Affected passengers will be notified by SMS or e-mail, using the contact details provided at the time of booking, as soon as a rebooking solution becomes available. If you have not received any notification by SMS or e-mail, this means that no transfer solution can be offered to you at this time.

  • Please do not go to the airport in the hope of being placed on standby.

  • Passengers who are not satisfied with the proposed solution, or who wish to postpone or cancel their trip, are invited to complete the regularization form. This will free up their seat and help prioritize rebooking for passengers with urgent travel needs.

  • Passengers affected by a flight cancellation are invited to consult the dedicated help page, where all information related to cancellations is available.
